This adventure had two parts: first was to take part in a photo tour looking for moose in particular, and fall colours in general, in and around Baxter State Park in Maine; second was to spend time in the Stowe, Vermont area checking out the local waterfalls.
The photo tour was led by Anita Mueller who, with her partner Marc Picard, own and run Moose Prints Gallery in Millinocket, Maine. In addition to Cathy and me, there were three other participants. It was a lot easier to find the Fall colours and Mount Katahdin to photograph than moose but, overall, we had a very enjoyable and satisfying trip.
We arrived in Stowe on our way home from Millinocket with a list of several waterfalls to explore during our stay. The only disappointment was, after a long summer drought period, the waterfalls were certainly not at their best; however, we enjoyed being up close and personal with this very scenic part of the world, especially in Fall.
We hope you enjoy our pictures in the two galleries below; click any thumbnail image to launch the first, then press “back” to come back to this page to see the other.
